GICAT exhibits at the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC)

Paris, March 26, 2024 - Today sees the opening of the Forum InCyber (FIC) at the Grand Palais in Lille. A real 21st century challenge, cybersecurity is breaking down borders with the connected world, and is an integral part of the development of GICAT-affiliated companies.

Cybersecurity and cyberspace cover an extremely wide range of activities. They concern government sectors (defense, homeland security, public administrations, etc.), vital infrastructures (energy, transport, health, etc.), the private sector (industries, banks, businesses, services, etc.) as well as the general public.

The threat is permanent, diffuse and diverse: jamming, theft, eavesdropping, abuse and usurpation of rights, alteration of data... As a result, computer attacks have grown exponentially since the early 2000s. Industrial systems interconnected to networks are particularly vulnerable targets. The global financial stakes are in the billions of euros.

France has real expertise in this field, thanks to its robust and innovative industrial fabric, made up largely of GICAT members, whether start-ups, SMEs, ETIs or major groups. Firmly committed to this new environment, GICAT has set up a Digital and Cyber Space Commission, whose first task is to map all French cyber tools meeting the protection needs of forces and companies, while maintaining a certain level of national sovereignty. For this reason, GICAT is once again exhibiting at the FIC. (Stand D23-1) until March 18 to showcase the know-how of its members, support them and facilitate exchanges between experts in the field. It will also be hosting two start-ups from its GENERATE innovation gas pedal on its stand:

  • BUSTER.AI specializes in the detection of false information. By developing an algorithm capable of comparing a set of classified sources that confirm or refute a piece of information, it is able to establish a reliability score for the information. Their solution also enables correlations between events to be established, as well as the study of the evolution over time of the recovery of a piece of information.
  • RFENCE designs software and sensors to detect, locate and analyze all devices emitting radio-frequency waves, in order to better counter them. Its solutions cover physical intrusion detection, anti-drone and anti-jamming.

About GICAT. Founded in 1978, GICAT, the French Land and Airborne Defense and Security Industries Group, has nearly 460 members: major groups, ETIs, SMEs and start-ups. Its members cover a broad spectrum of industrial, research, service and consultancy activities for military and civilian, national and international components involved in land and air-land security and/or defense.
