ARTILLERY AND MILITARY ROBOTICS: KNDS SHOWCASES CUTTING-EDGE SOLUTIONS AT DEFENSE SERVICES ASIA 2026 IN KUALA LUMPUR

Kuala Lumpur, April 19, 2026 - At Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2026, which takes place from April 20 to 23 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), KNDS is highlighting its lasting foothold in the Asia-Pacific region. Backed by long-standing industrial partnerships, notably around the 105LG artillery system chosen by Malaysia in 2018, the Group is also showcasing its new PHORIO tactical radio dedicated to robotic solutions, as well as a comprehensive ammunition offering tailored to today's operational challenges.

KNDS, MALAYSIA'S STRATEGIC ARTILLERY PARTNER

KNDS' presence in Malaysia is part of a long-term cooperation. Back in 2018, the Group began a strategic partnership with the authorities through the order and local assembly of the 105 LG light towed gun. This program is now a major benchmark and testifies to KNDS' ability to support its partners in key industrial projects. Thanks to its high mobility and ability to reposition quickly, the 105 LG guarantees discretion and survivability in the most demanding environments. The world's lightest 105mm gun, the 105 LG is suitable for helicopter and airborne operations, and illustrates KNDS' expertise in artillery.

KNDS relies on a leading industrial partner in Malaysia, ADS (Advance Defense System Sdn Bhd), a recognized player in the local DITB. Since its creation in 2005, ADS has established itself as a key integrator of artillery systems for the Malaysian army, working with several international leaders in the defense sector.

In artillery, KNDS masters the entire value chain for 155mm artillery solutions. Its CAESAR self-propelled artillery system, the global benchmark for wheeled artillery, is now ordered by 14 countries, with over 800 systems ordered or delivered worldwide. Proven in high-intensity combat, it offers unrivalled mobility, survivability, rate of fire and accuracy in its class.

KNDS UNVEILS PHORIO, ITS NEW TACTICAL RADIO FOR ALL TYPES OF TELEOPERATED ROBOTIC SYSTEMS (LAND, AIR, SEA) AND VEHICLES

At DSA 2026, KNDS is unveiling its PHORIO radio solution for the first time, guaranteeing reliable, secure, high-performance communications in the most demanding operational environments.

Developed for ground and airborne robotic systems, taking into account the environmental and integration constraints of this equipment, PHORIO offers versatility for the simultaneous transport of critical data: command & control, video, voice and data streams. This solution, adapted to modern battlefields that are scrambled and hostile to radio waves, ensures continuity of communications in all environments.
Thanks to its advanced frequency hopping and transmission security capabilities, PHORIO guarantees continuity of communications in the face of modern electromagnetic threats, notably to enable the use of remotely-operated weapons.

Its Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture makes it fundamentally scalable. Its capabilities can be enhanced by simple software updates, without hardware modification, enabling the addition of new functions, optimized radio performance, improved anti-jamming algorithms, or the integration of new communication modes and customer-specific protocols. PHORIO thus offers technological continuity, reducing obsolescence cycles and enabling equipped forces to benefit from progressive capability improvements throughout the system's lifecycle.

AMMUNITION SOLUTIONS TAILORED TO TODAY'S CHALLENGES

The DSA show is also an opportunity for KNDS to present its full range of MATARIS remotely operated munitions (MTO): a new generation of intelligent munitions, capable of being guided remotely to their target with enhanced precision and unrivalled operational flexibility. KNDS thus illustrates its commitment to providing armed forces with strike capabilities fully adapted to modern defense challenges.

Finally, KNDS presents the full extent of its ammunition range. This includes 105 and 155 mm ammunition combining range, precision and safety, as well as the 155 mm BONUS, an advanced artillery shell capable of detecting and neutralizing a wide range of armored vehicles, both stationary and moving. KNDS also highlights the 155 mm KATANA, a «fire and forget» ammunition designed for high-precision firing in complex operational environments. The range also includes 30×173 mm anti-drone ammunition, 40 mm and 76 mm naval ammunition for modern navies, and 20 mm and 30 mm medium-caliber ammunition for a wide range of land, air and naval systems.

«KNDS» participation at DSA 2026 illustrates our commitment to supporting the region's armed forces with reliable, innovative solutions adapted to modern operational needs. The 105 LG howitzer, KNDS' long-standing reference in Malaysia, illustrates the technological excellence and flexibility we bring to our partners in the spirit of the National Defence Industry Policy favoured by the Malaysian authorities," said Amaury de Poncins, KNDS France Business Development Export Manager.
