Orange Business launches Orange Drone Guardian, the first «as a Service» anti-drone service in Europe

Press release
Paris, March 17, 2026

  •  As the number of civilian drones continues to grow, and their malicious uses multiply, Orange Business announces the launch of Orange Drone Guardian, an innovative, scalable drone defense solution in «as a service» mode.
  • The launch of Orange Drone Guardian illustrates the ambition of Orange Business' Defense and Security Division, less than a year after its creation: to leverage all the digital infrastructures and expertise of the Orange Group to deliver next-generation sovereign solutions.

Orange Drone Guardian detects, identifies and classifies intrusive drones in low-altitude airspace, anywhere in France, with the capacity to extend to Europe. It meets the critical infrastructure security needs of operators of vital importance (OIV), operators of essential services (OSE), organizers of major events and public institutions.

A pioneering, secure solution based on a combination of assets that leverage Orange's unique telecoms and digital infrastructures, as well as its proven capabilities in terms of a trusted operating model.

  • Orange Business sovereign infrastructures, including :
o secure, resilient connectivity controlled end-to-end by Orange
on the national territory, from its networks to their operations,
o a trusted cloud platform, Cloud Avenue SecNum, qualified SecNumCloud 3.2 by ANSSI, deployed in our eco-responsible datacenter in Grenoble,
o a secure supervision center in France, operated 24/7 by experts accustomed to consolidating and processing data from the field in real time.
  • Orange TowerCo's nationwide network of 19,700 TOTEM sites provides its high points (passive towers that support antennas) as strategic supports for detection sensors. This territorial capillarity extends the reach of surveillance and improves the quality of detection, without each customer having to deploy and maintain their own infrastructure.
  • Detection technology (sensors and Command & Control - «C2» - software), which enables drones to be spotted, identified and classified, even in urban and disturbed environments.

A first «turnkey» anti-drone offering, augmented by AI and upgradable to integrate future sensors or new 5G radio sensing technologies

Orange Drone Guardian, a subscription-based solution, marks a major step forward
in our approach to drone control:

  • Easy access With a single click, organizations benefit from real-time detection information, without the need for heavy hardware investment.
  • Operational agility The solution can be adapted to the specific context of each customer (industrial sites, logistics platforms, ports, airports, major events, dense urban areas, etc.).
  • Technological scalability Orange Drone Guardian's open architecture enables
integrate additional software bricks and new sensors, in particular the radio sensing capabilities offered by 5G networks.
  • Innovation The use of artificial intelligence technologies and digital twins will enrich the modeling and analysis of sensor data.

Nassima Auvray, Director of Defense & Security, comments: «I am proud to announce the launch of the first offering from the Defense & Security Division, Orange Drone Guardian. This solution, a pioneer in France and Europe, meets the challenges of protecting our customers‘ sensitive sites: sovereign infrastructures, an incremental and open model, all offered ’as a Service». The power of this solution lies in our capacity for innovation and our multidisciplinary expertise.»
