Arquus: a company focused on its employees

June 21, 2024 - The land-based defense industry, although crucial to national security, often suffers from a lack of recognition and attractiveness. Aware of these challenges, Arquus is actively involved in the Human Resources commission of GICAT (Groupement des Industriels de la Défense et de la Sécurité). The aim of this initiative is to identify recruitment obstacles and implement strategies to attract new talent.

The aim of this initiative is to join forces to raise awareness of the land defense professions and implement strategies to attract new talent.

Nourished by these reflections, Arquus has implemented a policy resolutely focused on its employees. The company is constantly working to improve the quality of working life and social dynamics, making every employee a key player in its success. At Arquus, employees are part of a team that values people as much as technological excellence. Each employee evolves in a flexible structure with accessible management, allowing everyone to flourish and see concrete results from their work. The company offers a long-term vision thanks to a solid order book, enabling employees to project themselves and develop professionally within a framework that favors security and a balanced life.

Arquus commitments

With a workforce of 1,200, the company recruits an average of 150 people a year for a wide range of profiles, including engineers, purchasing, quality, methods and all industrial production-related professions, such as welders. Arquus devotes an average of 20 hours to training per employee per year, thereby encouraging internal mobility. The company has also set up individualized integration programs, such as the "Ecole des Métiers", which trains new employees in proper work techniques at its top-quality sites, thereby minimizing the risk of accidents. Arquus' 4 production sites and 2 service sites spread across France bear witness to the company's local roots and industrial dynamism.

Ongoing awareness campaigns

Arquus has set itself the target of increasing the proportion of women and female managers to at least 35% by 2030. To achieve this goal, the company pays particular attention to the professional development of women, in particular by setting up "leadership au féminin" training courses and "TecHer" women's lunches with inspiring speakers. Among its female employees, Arquus is also proud to have female mentors from the "Elles bougent" association, who talk to young middle-school girls about their career paths.

Arquus is also committed at local level with its establishments of excellence, and regularly sets up visits with technical high schools, to show the diversity and importance of the trades that are needed to keep the land-based defense industry going. In 2021, the company signed a cooperation agreement with ENSTA Bretagne, including the creation of a joint R&D laboratory and multiple contributions to engineering training.

Arquus contributes to the ongoing development of some fifty actions each year, involving social defense, the spirit of defense and citizenship. A wide range of different forms of commitment are encouraged. Individual reservist employees benefit from up to 20 days of operational reserve per year.

For the first time at Eurosatory, a 250 m² area in Hall 5B on Thursday June 20 and Friday June 21 will be dedicated to promoting land defense professions and recruiting new talent: students, jobseekers, military personnel undergoing retraining, etc.
