July 02, 2024 - John Cockerill today announced the conclusion of the acquisition process for Arquus, France's leading supplier of military vehicles, which began in January with the Volvo Group.
The deal comes as France and Belgium recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support and frame this alliance, with the two states each taking a 10% stake in John Cockerill Defense.
In addition to Arquus© vehicles and Cockerill© weapon systems, each of which is a benchmark in its respective market, John Cockerill Defense will also offer a combined range of vehicles equipped with light tank turrets to better serve land forces worldwide. It is targeting annual sales of 1 billion euros and a workforce of 2,000 professionals by 2026, with a global presence and major operational bases in Belgium, France, Italy, India and Saudi Arabia.
John Cockerill was exclusively advised by Crédit Agricole CIB in this transaction, which was financed by Crédit Agricole CIB (Coordinator and Agent), BNP Paribas Fortis and Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking.
