Industry Week: the 15th edition will be held from November 16 to 22, 2026

Paris, April 20, 2026
N°588

Organized since 2011 by the Direction Générale des Entreprises (DGE), Industry Week is a not-to-be-missed event. to help change the way young people and jobseekers look at industry and its professions.

The sector is facing persistent recruitment difficulties. According to L'Usine Nouvelle's annual survey last February, there will be almost 130,000 recruitment projects to fill in the industry in 2026, and 90% of industry companies experienced recruitment difficulties in 2024. DARES estimates that there will be over 63,900 job vacancies in the sector in Q4 2025. Industry still struggles to attract people, whatever their level of qualification, even though it is essential to our country's sovereignty and competitiveness.

The French government has made skills needs a major focus of its reindustrialization policy, and the France 2030 plan has earmarked €1.5 billion for the emergence of talent and the adaptation of training to the skills requirements of new sectors and professions of the future.

In addition, the feminization of the sector is one of the objectives of this initiative, as women represent less than 30% of employees in the industry.

Industry Week, which will take place from November 16 to 22, 2026, is part of this approach, giving industrial companies the opportunity to promote their professions and know-how, and to showcase their assets. This fifteenth edition of the event is designed to help young girls and boys - secondary school students, apprentices and jobseekers - make the right career choices, by inviting them to discover the trades, career opportunities and men and women who make up industry, far from the clichés forged in the collective imagination. These actions will showcase innovative French industry, which is making a lasting home for itself in the regions where it is based, at the heart of the ecological transition and the transformation of the economy, and which enables us to meet all our everyday needs (transport, food, housing, healthcare, etc.).

With over 8,000 accredited events and 5.1 million registered participants in 2025, Industry Week has become a key event in the relationship between education and the world of work. The French government, government departments and operators, professional federations, industrial companies of all sizes, and the event's institutional and associative partners are all actively involved in promoting the industrial professions.

As in previous years, all players, companies, industry federations, schools and training establishments wishing to participate will be invited to label their events from September 2026.

Jean-Pierre Farandou, Minister of Labour and Solidarity, declared: « I appeal to young people: come and discover industry. It offers well-paid, meaningful careers, accessible from the CAP to the doctorate. Aeronautics, defense, mechanics, energy, chemicals: these sectors are present in all our regions. They play a strategic role in our country's sovereignty. Our companies need you. "

Sébastien Martin, Minister Delegate for Industry, declared: « Industry Week is a It's a key moment for young people to discover industrial trades, and to encourage more women to enter the industry. Following on from the success of the 2025 event, the 15th Semaine de l'Industrie must build on this momentum by encouraging more companies to open their doors to young talent. At a time when France is stepping up its reindustrialization policy, we need to open up our companies even more, and showcase our know-how and innovations. It's by encouraging young people to enter the workforce throughout the country that we'll be able to strengthen our industry in the long term. "

Sabrina Roubache, Minister attached to the Minister for Labour and Solidarity and the Minister for National Education, with responsibility for Vocational Education and Training and Apprenticeships, declared: « Re-industrializing France requires a mobilization of skills. Faced with recruitment pressures, our training programs and apprenticeships are the pillars of our sovereignty. By offering careers of excellence from the CAP to the doctorate, we are breaking down stereotypes and guaranteeing every young person, especially girls, a quality job in the heart of our regions. This 15th Semaine de l'industrie is a testament to the success of a model that reconciles national ambition and the future of our young people. "
