Paris, October 8, 2025. At the opening of the Forum Entreprises Défense (FED) organized on the Plateau de Satory by the Structure intégrée du maintien en condition opérationnelle des matériels terrestres (SIMMT) and the Ile de France Chamber of Commerce.in partnership with the Groupement des Industries Françaises de Défense et de Sécurité Terestres et Aéroterrestres (GICAT), the coordinator of the Satory Tech project, welcomes recent advances in the development of this strategic region.
An unprecedented partnership between the department and the Ministry of the Armed Forces
The cooperative momentum generated by the members of the Satory Tech committee to build an academic, technological and industrial center of excellence on the Plateau by 2030. received a further boost on 1er Last October, a framework agreement 2025-2028 was signed between the Yvelines département and the Ministry of the Armed Forces, at the Plateau de Satory stakeholder conference hosted by the Prefect of Yvelines. Partnership promotes social integration of military personnel in the département (housing, employment, health, education, sport...), enhances the region's military identity, and strengthens the morale of the population by launching a study partnership, and encourages the development of shared initiatives with defense industries.
Launch of runway development work
Preparatory work has begun for the opening of the new test tracks. These will enable manufacturers, academics (Les Mines Paris -PSL, Université Gustave Eiffel) and existing forces - the GIGN (Groupe d'intervention de la Gendarmerie nationale), SIMMT, STAT (Section technique de l'armée de Terre), GBGM (Groupement blindé de gendarmerie mobile) and CCF (Commandement du Combat Futur) to relaunch their research and innovation activities and position the plateau as a strategic laboratory.
Inauguration of the Mines Paris - PSL Innovation Campus
The inauguration of the innovation at Mines Paris - PSL, on October 22, financed to the tune of 100 million euros by the département, marks a major step forward in the development of the plateau. The building covers almost 15,000 m², 13,000 of which are dedicated to several research and teaching units, including the Materials Centre, the Energy, Environment and Processes Centre, and the Robotics Centre. Dealing with strategic themes such as innovative materials and energy-efficient systems, complex systems and intelligent mobility, it is part of a drive for scientific excellence in major defense-related areas.
Finally, the structuring of ambitious projects for the future, such as the "robot village" and the "drone aviary" in Hall A, contribute to the development of the Satory Tech project in its academic and dual dimensions.
