Paris, October 24, 2023 - At the close of its latest board meeting, GICAT (Groupement des Industries Françaises de Défense et de Sécurité Terestres et Aéroterrestres) was proud to welcome the Economat des Armées as a new member.
Dedicated to supporting the armed forces, the Économat des Armées (EdA) is a commercial public establishment under the supervision of the French Armed Forces General Staff. It provides services in the fields of operational infrastructure and logistical support, such as transport and camp management. EdA supplies all types of equipment used for infrastructure, day-to-day support, mobility and individual soldier equipment, excluding lethal equipment. It operates nationally, overseas and internationally.
The company employs nearly 700 people, and is expected to generate sales of 394 million euros by 2022. EdA's long-standing know-how and expertise in organization and requirements management have earned it contracts with the United Nations, the European Union, the African Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
This new partnership strengthens the existing links between GICAT's industrial members and the EdA. We are thus strengthening our forces and the French land and air defense and security industry.
