Tuesday, June 18, 2024 - Eurosatory - On the occasion of EUROSATORY 2024, the Defense Innovation Agency (AID) and the Groupement des industries françaises de défense et de sécurité terrestres et aéroterrestres (GICAT) have renewed their partnership agreement endorsed in June 2020. By signing an agreement today, they are demonstrating their shared determination to pursue their actions in favor of the co-construction and structuring of the defense and security industrial community around innovation.
In addition to exchanging best practices and information, this alliance has built up a relationship of trust and efficiency over the past 4 years. This is illustrated by AID's presence on selection juries for the GENERATE innovation and gas pedal label, and the participation of startups in the Defense Innovation Forum organized by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
In the challenges ahead, the emphasis will be on increased international cooperation in the field of innovation, particularly at EU and NATO level. It will also focus on joint initiatives, such as the participation of industrialists from GICAT's Research, Technology and Innovation (RTI) commission in writing the annual Defense Innovation Research and Guidance Document.
Thanks to this partnership, GICAT has confirmed its position and role in structuring the ground and air-land defense and security ecosystem. It brings to AID its in-depth expertise of the defense industrial and technological base. For its part, AID, as the driving force behind the Ministry of the Armed Forces' innovation-driven transformation, provides GICAT's industrial partners with a better understanding of, and privileged access to, the needs of the armed forces. This sharing of expertise and experience ensures the success of innovation projects, effectively meeting the operational needs of the armed forces.
