For more of 30 years, France Maccaferri develops and produces technical solutions for civilan and military fields, such as hydraulics works, soil reinforcement, erosion control. France Maccaferri also offers solutions for fortifications and military infrastructure as home as abroad. In 2017 France Maccaferri developped a new system of prevention against vehicle intrusion.

DEFENCELL MAC

Defencell MAC is a new range of protective welded mesh metal gabions lined with geotextile and supplied in several standard sizes. Defencell MAC gabions are filled with earth, sand or other locally available fill materials and provide ballistic protection, blast mitigation and HVM vehicle barriers. Defencell MAC can also be used for environmental applications and is ideal for flood protection.

FLEXMAC

FlexMaC DT is a modular structure made from double twisted, heavily galvanised steel wire mesh panels, reinforced with vertical steel bars. The cells are connected together in the factory and then folded to reduce shipping volume and facilitate rapid deployment.

Application : ballistic protection, blast mitigation and HVM vehicle barriers and flood protection.

MACSAFE

MacSafe™ is a new vehicle incursion prevention system, developed in response to a need to continuously improve public safety.

The system is crash test rated and accredited by the UIAU (University of Venice) and a recent installation in Nice, France is designed to stop a 19 tonne truck travelling at 50km/h, impacting at 20°.

The MacSafe™ system consists of two high tensile steel cables, anchored at each end with our patented energy dissipation system. The cables are supported on tubular steel posts which are secured to ground foundations.
The force of the vehicle impact is distributed through the cables and posts and absorbed within the patented energy dissipaters. The energy is absorbed through compressive deformation and not by friction. This ensures better and more reliable performance throughout the long-life of the barrier.
